Sponsor: This scholarship is funded by the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training.
The official call for 2026-2027 will be launched in January 2026. The current information is preliminary and subject to change.

| Tuition fee waiver | Master Mind Scholarship holders are entitled to a full waiver of their tuition fees. They only need to pay an annual administration fee of €136.50. |
| Scholarship coverage | Incoming students will receive a scholarship of €10,000 per academic year for up to two academic years. |
| Duration | One academic year for a 60 ECTS master's programme and two academic years for a 120 ECTS master's programme. |
| Number of scholarships available | The Flemish government will award 30 Master Mind Scholarships to outstanding students enrolled on a master's programme in Flanders. KU Leuven can nominate 20 candidates. |
Info: A number of scholarships are reserved for students from the following countries: Japan (3), Mexico (3), Palestine (2) and the USA (5). These countries are considered priority countries by the Flemish government.

KU Leuven ASEAN Scholarship (on the condition that you have one of the eligible nationalities)

KU Leuven Scholarship for Central and South America (on the condition that you have one of the eligible nationalities)
Through one application process, you will automatically be considered for all of these scholarships.

| Academic requirements | The student must have excellent academic performance and potential, demonstrated through a high GPA. Previous degrees should have been obtained outside Flanders. Students who completed a credit mobility programme in Flanders remain eligible. |
| Language proficiency | TOEFL: ≥94, IELTS: ≥7, Cambridge CPE: level C2. Tests must be taken before 15 January 2026. Applicants who studied in English-speaking countries (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, UK, USA) are exempt. |
| Disqualifying conditions | - Current enrolment at a Flemish institution (except preparatory students starting a master's in 2026). - Cannot be combined with other Flemish government or Erasmus Mundus scholarships. |

Application procedure:

Step 1: Submit a complete application file for an eligible master's programme before 15 January 2026, 23.59 CET, including the KU Leuven Scholarships & Master Mind Candidacy Form as an annexe (upload under document type “Annexe”).

Step 2: Register your scholarship candidacy via the online registration tool before 15 January 2026, 23.59 CET.

After nomination: Candidates will be informed by 10 March 2026 and asked to submit a one-minute motivational video by 18 March 2026.
SELECTION
Procedure:

Nomination: After the deadline, KU Leuven's master's programmes will nominate eligible students.

Notification: Nominated students will be informed before 10 March 2026.

Preselection: Up to 20 students will be preselected by KU Leuven’s central Selection Committee by 15 April 2026.

Final selection: The Flemish government’s Selection Committee will make the final decision. Results will be announced end of May or early June.
