The University of Montreal (Université de Montréal - UdeM) offers the International Student Scholarship to outstanding international students admitted to undergraduate, master's, or PhD degree programs. Instead of providing a cash stipend, this scholarship waives part or all of the additional tuition fees normally charged to international students, making it more affordable to study at one of Canada's leading French-language research universities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Be an international student (excluding French and French-speaking Belgian students).
• Receive an offer of admission to an eligible full-time degree program at UdeM.
• Apply for a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program.
• Hold valid Canadian study authorization (CAQ and Study Permit).
• Remain enrolled full-time throughout the program (unless officially approved otherwise).
• Not be enrolled in non-degree or short undergraduate programs (e.g., certificate, major, minor, preparatory year).
• Not receive another tuition fee exemption.

BENEFITS

The scholarship provides a tuition fee exemption by reducing the additional tuition fees charged to international students.

• Undergraduate (Bachelor's): Up to CAD $14,436/year (based on academic excellence).
• Master's: Partial tuition fee exemption of up to CAD $15,916.05/year (research) or CAD $11,334.60/year (coursework).
• PhD: Full exemption of additional international tuition fees, allowing eligible students to pay the same tuition rates as Québec PhD students (up to CAD $24,067.80/year).
