• Students with an excellent score in their bachelor degree study, shown by being in the top 10% of bachelor degree programs or equivalent to grade A
• Students who are not already enrolled in a master degree program at ETH Zurich
• Applicants that have not hold a master degree yet
• Students that fulfill the requirements of the chosen master degree study program at ETH Zurich

This scholarship is provided for the master degree study programs that are offered at ETH Zurich. ETH Zurich provide consecutive master degree programs and specialized master degree programs in various field of study.

• Tuition fee waiver
• Living allowance given for each semester
• Study expenses given for each semester

The scholarship benefits will be awarded to the scholarship awardee for the regular duration of the master program which is around 3 to 4 semesters. Some of the scholarship benefits might be suspended if the scholarship awardee joined an exchange semester at other universities.

• Make sure that you are eligible to apply for both the scholarship and the chosen master degree study program at ETH Zurich before continuing to the application process
• Visit the ESOP information webpage and click on the eApply link provided on the webpage. Then, you will be directed to the ETH Zurich application portal
• Register for a new account using an active email address
• Log in using the registered account
• Complete the application based on the terms and requirements
• Submit your application before the closing date of the first application window

• Pre-proposal for the master thesis based on the guidelines
• Curriculum vitae with an active phone number
• Other documents required by the chosen study program

• The submitted applications will be assessed by the Admissions Committees of the program chosen by applicants
• Some applicants might be invited to attend a phone or video call interview in February
• Then, the selection process will be done by the Rector of ETH Zurich
• Final selection results will be notified around the end of March

The ESOP scholarship will be awarded to approximately 60 students that passed the final selection process. This exact amount of scholarship awarded will depend on the availability of funds.

The application for the 2025 academic year will be open until 30 November 2024.
