Established in 1858 by Yukichi Fukuzawa as a small school of Western learning, Keio has a history as Japan’s very first private institution of higher learning. Over 160 years since its founding, Keio has thrived under its founder’s motto of jitsugaku, or empirical science, as it continues to transform Japan as a modern nation through contributions to education, research, and medicine. Design the Future Award for International Students in Japan 2024 is offered by Keio University located in Japan to students who have enrolled themselves in a graduate-level program at the University.

Eligibility Criteria :

• Applicants must have an offer letter for a postgraduate, PhD, or professional degree program at Keio University.
• Applicants must enroll for the April or September 2025 academic year.
• Applicants must be classed as international students.
• Applicants must surpass the admission requirements set by the University.
• Applicants must not receive any other scholarship.
• Applicants must have completed more than 15 years of formal education.
• Applicants must have obtained their undergraduate degree outside Japan.

Value of the Award :

All successful applicants of the Design the Future Award for International Students in Japan 2024 will receive the following from Keio University:

• Full Tuition fee (except Double Degree international students)
• Monthly Living expenses - JPY 200,000
• One-time preparation grant - JPY 150,000
