The Department of Art and Media Studies at NTNU is offering a fully funded PhD research fellowship connected to the PhD programme in Humanities and the Arts. Applicants will develop an independent project linked to specific research groups at the department, such as The Film Research Group, AI Media, Reflexive Dramaturgy, Media, Data, Museums, Environmental Humanities, Socially Engaged Art Research, or the Centre for Medieval Studies. This position aims to qualify candidates for further careers in higher education and research, with a planned start date of January 11, 2027.

ELIGIBILITY
- Must be eligible for admission to the PhD programme in Humanities and the Arts (normally requires an academically relevant master's degree that includes a thesis of at least 30 credits, equivalent to a five-year Norwegian course or 120 credits at the master's level).
- Must have an average grade from the master's degree equal to B or better compared to NTNU's grading scale.
- Must possess very good oral and written presentation skills in English.
- Note: Former PhD research fellows at NTNU or candidates who already have an approved doctorate in related fields from other institutions are not eligible.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Copies of diplomas, including transcripts for both bachelor's and master's degrees (and a diploma supplement if applicable).
- Completed CV.
- A description of the doctoral project to be carried out (following the official template, written in English, Norwegian, or another Scandinavian language).
- Supervisor confirmation from the intended main supervisor at NTNU.
- Names and contact details of two relevant references.
- (Optional) For applicants with lower grades or a shorter master's thesis: Documentation of special suitability (relevant work experience, peer-reviewed scientific works, or equivalent education).
