Benefits
The University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship provide the recipient with:
- Grant amounting to CHF 10’000 to CHF 15’000/year (no teaching duties).
- It is awarded for one year and extended for the regular duration of the chosen Master’s program (three or four semesters) provided the applicant is academically successful at the end of his/her first semester of studies.

To qualify for the University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship, candidates must fulfill all of the following requirements:

University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship Requirements
To be considered for the University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship, note the following requirements:
- Application for an University of Geneva Excellence Fellowship is open to students from any university with very good performance in their studies (belonging to the best 10% of their bachelor’s program) and who have completed the Bachelor degree or expect to complete it within 6 months.
- Selection of the applicants will be based on excellence.
- Evaluation will be made on the basis of the documentation sent by the applicants.
- French proficiency is not a formal requirement for the Masters of the Faculty of science.
How To Apply?
- Ensure you meet the admission criteria for your chosen Master’s program at the University of Geneva. Strong academic performance and motivation in your field are essential.
- Complete the enrollment process for your Master’s program. Current UNIGE students must provide a scan of their student card; new students should provide proof of registration or confirmation from the admissions office.
- Prepare all required documents and combine them into a single PDF. Include a copy of your national ID or passport, a two-page CV, bachelor’s transcripts, and a motivation letter explaining your scientific interests and reasons for applying.
- Submit your application in English or French before the deadline. Only complete applications will be considered for evaluation.
