Eligibility Criteria
Must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China.
- Age limits:
1. Master’s applicants: under 35 years old
2. PhD applicants: under 40 years old
- Academic qualifications:
- Master’s: Bachelor’s degree
- PhD: Master’s degree
- Health: Good physical and mental health (Foreigner Physical Examination Form required)
- Language proficiency:
1. Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 (Science, Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture) or HSK Level 5 (Liberal Arts, Management, Law, Arts)
2. English-taught programs: TOEFL iBT ≥80 or IELTS ≥6 (non-native English speakers)

Required Documents
- CGS Application Form (English or Chinese)
- Copy of passport information page (valid at least until September 2026)
- Notarized highest diploma (or proof of current student status if graduation is pending)
- Academic transcripts (undergraduate and graduate if applicable), official and sealed. Documents in languages other than English/Chinese must include notarized translation.
- Language certificate (HSK, TOEFL, IELTS, or other accepted proof)
- Study plan / research proposal (written in English or Chinese, ≥1,000 words/characters)
- Two recommendation letters from professors/associate professors (English or Chinese)
- Portfolio / examples of art/design work (for art-related majors)
- If under 18: legal guardian documents for China
- Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (complete, signed by physician, hospital stamp, applicant photo; valid for 6 months)
- Non-criminal record certificate (issued within 6 months of application)

- Complete your personal information profile carefully and save your progress.
- Select Program Category Type B and begin a new application for the scholarship.
- Enter Sichuan University’s Agency Number: 10610 in the required field.
- Fill out the application form, including your study plan, academic background, and language proficiency information.
- Upload all required supporting documents, such as transcripts, diplomas, recommendation letters, and passport copies.
- Review your entire application thoroughly and submit it once everything is accurate.
- Print a copy of your submitted application form for your own records.
- If the university requires hard-copy documents, prepare and send them according to the instructions.
- Check your email regularly for updates, corrections, or additional document requests from Sichuan University or CSC.
