Everyone having a Bachelor’s degree from a higher institution abroad or from U.S. based institute can apply for this remarkable opportunity in the United States. This scholarship in the USA will help the fellows to work with East West Centre to develop themselves in the following areas: educational, cultural, and residential community building, along with leadership development.

1. Eligibility Criteria
- Be a citizen, national, or permanent resident of one of the eligible countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Vietnam.
- Apply for admission to a graduate degree program at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UH Mānoa).
- Meet the academic and admission requirements of the intended graduate program at UH Mānoa.
- Demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and an interest in developing greater understanding and cooperation among the peoples and nations of the Asia-Pacific region and the United States.
- Be able to participate actively in the East-West Center community and educational programs while pursuing their degree.
2. Benefits
- Covers tuition fees for a graduate degree program at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
- Covers required academic and program-related fees.
- Provides accommodation at the East-West Center residential facilities.
- Provides financial support for living expenses.
- Provides support for certain educational expenses.
- Provides health insurance coverage, subject to the fellowship’s terms and conditions.
- May include round-trip travel expenses to and from Honolulu for eligible fellows.
- Fellows can participate in East-West Center programs, training activities, cultural exchanges, and networking opportunities with students and professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region.
3. How to apply
- Students have to apply through the online application portal HERE
- If you are a student at the University of Hawai’i, directly apply to EWC.
- Upload the necessary documentation.
- If you are not a student at the University of Hawai, apply to UH.
- After applying to UH, apply to EWC with the necessary documentation.
- The UH evaluates and informs the decision to EWC.
- The final selection will be made by EWC.
