1. Eligibility Criteria

• A New Zealand citizen
• An Australian permanent resident
• An Australian humanitarian visa holder
• An international student

Applicants must also:

• Have submitted a scholarship application in the current year.
• Undertake research that aligns with one of Monash University’s Global Challenges.
• Meet Monash’s competitive scholarship selection requirements.
• Meet Monash’s English language proficiency requirements for admission.

2. Benefits

• Living allowance: AUD 53,608 per year at the 2026 rate.
• Research allowance: financial support for research-related expenses.
• Relocation allowance: available to eligible students to assist with relocation costs.

3. How to apply

• Graduate research scholarship applications are submitted at the same time as the course application, unless the applicant is already enrolled at Monash. Applicants use the myApp Portal for both course admission and scholarship applications.
• Applicants do not need to select the Monash Graduate Impact 2030 Scholarship specifically. Eligible applicants are automatically considered for all available graduate research scholarships.
• The scholarship is awarded only in the 31 October scholarship round, and eligible applicants from Rounds 1–4 of the same year are automatically considered for nomination by the relevant faculty
