- Public transport: Half-Fare Travelcard.
- Additional activities: Excursions and activities organised by the coordinating body.
- Return flight allowance: Available to scholarship holders from non-EU/EFTA countries, with the amount determined by country of origin.
The scholarship is not a salary and does not provide funding for fieldwork or conference participation.

Travel expenses for scholarship holders from EU/EFTA countries
Some universities may charge semester fees of approximately CHF 600–2,000 per semester, or reduced tuition fees. In some cases, PhD fees are not waived.
- Reside in Switzerland during the scholarship period.
- Live in the city or canton of the Swiss host institution.
- Comply with Swiss laws and the regulations of the host institution.
- Notify FCS of any additional financial support or income.
- The scholarship may not be used to supplement full-time employment.
- Field research outside Switzerland is not permitted during research fellowships.
